Conversations with Noah

I was trying to wrestle a bag of grated cheese open, when the zip closure split the bag right open. (Why? Why do they bother with the recloseable bag when it never works!) In frustration, I growled and said, "Well, I'm just going to have to eat all this cheese now." The kids looked up in alarm, then Noah turned to Sarah and said, "I think she was just kidding." Ha.

Noah: I'm only saying goodbye to the boys [from preschool], but not the girls.
Me: Oh, do girls have cooties?
Noah: Yeah.
Me: What about boys? I thought boys had cooties.
Noah: No, boys have boots.
Me: Boots?
Noah: Yeah. Boys have boots, and girls have cooties.

My hero!

Rich turned in and was approved on his final write up for his Woodbadge goals. This has been an 18-month endeavor, and he's worked really hard on it.
Hooray for Rich!

I found it! I fo-ound it! Hee.

(I can't say "I found it" without using the Land Before Time Cera voice.)

So, about 6 months ago, I'd posted a review of the book Beauty and mentioned that I was still looking for my favorite movie version. Well, it popped up on Amazon the other day! I wasn't sure, since I couldn't find any pictures, but the description sounded just familiar enough for me to be hopeful. It didn't hurt that it was on sale for $5.49, so I got it. We watched it tonight, and it's definitely the one I remembered.

It's one of the Cannon Group Fairy Tale Series. Beauty and the Beast with Rebecca De Mornay and John Savage, if anyone's interested. (Several of the other movies in the series look really familiar too.)

Yay for me!

That's a spicy meat-a-ball!

This just cracks me up.

Rich found Karen doing this and brought her to me to take a picture. Who says babies prefer bland tastes? Apparently sucking salsa off chips isn't enough. She needs the whole bottle of Tabasco sauce.

(Fortunately she couldn't get the lid off, so it was just a little bit around the sides.)

Making Jam

Mmmm. Cheap strawberries mean time to fill up the freezer!

The kids were good helpers.

Easter

Sarah in her Easter dress with a lily she made in class.

Gotta dye Easter eggs. Just gotta.

Easter baskets:

Noah's favorite was the cars, of course. Sarah liked the magnetic spinning bunny.

And Karen is a candy fiend. She's still finding Easter candy around the house.

This was NOT funny.

We got a package yesterday from my sister Holly. When we opened it up, guess what we found? A DEAD PUPPY. The kids were so sad / freaked out about it, that Rich had to go buy a live puppy to get them to stop rolling around on the floor crying.
So now we have a puppy. Her name is Moldie.
