Conversations with Noah

"I want applesauce!"
"What? You want a kiss?"
"No, applesauce!"
"Hugs and Kisses?"
"No! Applesauce!"
"Okay, let's go look. I don't see any; I think it's all gone."
"Oh."
"Do you want a granola bar?"
"I already had that."
"Hmm. Carrots?"
"They're all gone."
"No, here's some in a can, right here."
"Oh. Are they new?"
"Yup, Mommy bought more at the store."
"Oh, they're new! *clapping* Good job Mommy!"

:D If I had known all I had to do was buy canned carrots at the store to be a good Mommy...

Noah's Exploits

Well, Noah has officially graduated from henchman to villain. Up to now, he's participated in the projects Sarah comes up with. Well, no longer. He initiated his own plot to drive his mother crazy. Three times in the past two days, he's gotten into the paints from the preschool supply box (which is now on TOP of the cabinet, thank you). Carpet, couch, computer monitor screen, chairs, Sarah's shoes, etc. Fortunately, this is all Crayola Washable paints, and it's come off just about everything. But still. I wasn't looking for something to do that badly.

And this morning he also decorated himself. He had blue tempera paint all over his shirt and pants--and apparently his diaper needed decorating too... When I caught him this morning, I just looked at him. And he looked up at me and said, "That was naughty."

What the kids are up to

I asked Sarah what picture of her she wanted on the blog, and she picked this one. She's quite creative in her drawings. This one is "a living, flying pyramid."

Noah has discovered a new tactic to avoid naps. He crawls into the space between his bed and the wall and colors or reads stories where Mommy can't see that he's out of bed. He sure fooled me. ;-)

Karen is discovering her hands. She likes to eat them, wave them, and watch them. She is also figuring out how to bat at toys with them.

Awwww. Look at that smile!

Family Resemblance III

Hmmm. I think this month, Karen looks like a mix of her two older siblings.

I think we've watched too much Dora lately

Karen rolled over from her tummy for the first time Wednesday evening.

It was followed by a celebratory song and dance that goes as follows: "Dundundundundundundun She did it! She did it! She did it! Yay! Lo Hizo! She did it! ...Karen was on her tummy...and then she rolled over, yeah she did it. She did it! She did it! Hooray!" ...with the little arms back and forth movements.

And last night, Noah was hitting a ball saying, "Whack! Whack! Say it with me Mommy. Whack! Whack!"

Good thing that DVD is going back to the library soon.
